A Jim Beam Warehouse Fire Could Destroy 45,000 Barrels of Bourbon

A major fire at a Jim Beam warehouse is likely to destroy about 45,000 barrels of bourbon.

Two Woodford, Kentucky facilities went up in flames late Tuesday night, according to local news station WKYT, but firefighters were able to extinguish one.

The initial fire might’ve been caused by a lightning strike, Woodford County Emergency Management Director Drew Chandler told WKYT.

Dan Cohen, spokesperson for Jim Beam’s parent company Beam Suntory, said that nobody has been injured in the blaze.
